Abstract: |
The correlations between paper physical properties, whiteness and near infrared spectrum of Acacia spp. were studied by using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to establish near infrared mathematical models of physical properties and whiteness of unbleached kraft paper of Acacia spp. Spectral data of unbleached kraft paper of Acacia spp. were acquired by NIRS. The whiteness, tensile index and tear index of the paper were measured by standard methods. The spectral data were pretreated and the mathematical models of paper were established by software OPUS 6.5 partial least squares (abbreviated as PLS). The whiteness, tear index and tensile index of unbleached kraft paper of Acacia spp. have strong correlation with the spectrum of paper. The mathematical models of whiteness, tear index and tensile index of paper can be used to non-destructively predict paper properties rapidly. |
