Abstract: |
In this paper, microfibrillated cellulose(MFC) was made from bleached bamboo sulfite pulp; then MFC was added in the mix pulp of bleached bagasse kraft pulp, bleached soft wood pulp and bleached hardwood pulp(CTMP) to make papers. The effects of MFC on paper strength were studied, and were compared with the effect of cationic starch. On the other hand, the MFC and cationic starch were coated on the paper respectively in order to make a comparison. The results gave clear indication that at low coating weight the paper coated with MFC has a higher picking velocity than that coated with cationic starch, and the paper coated with MFC has improved the physical strength. |
