Abstract:
      In this paper, the characteristics of the paper manufactured with old corrugated containers (OCC) pulp and corn stalk core pulp were studied. The corn stalk core pulp was prepared by using auto-catalyzed ethanol pulping process and the optimum cooking condition was determined by orthogonal test. The effects of different ratio of corn stalk corepulp on hand sheet properties were investigated. The results demonstrated the following optimum conditions for ethanol cooking : the maximum temperature was 185℃, time at the maximum temperature was 90 min, liquid ratio was 1∶25, ethanol concentration was 60%. The suitable proportion of corn stalk core was 20%~25%. Compared with the control paper without corn stalk core, the tensile index, ring crush index, burst index increased by 77.7%, 47.1% and 26.7% respectively, when the core stalk core pulp dosage was 25%.
