The composites made from waste newspaper recycled fibers (NRF)and polylactic acid (PLA) were prepared by injection molding technology, the effect of alkali treatment on mechanical properties of NRF /PLA composites was investigated. It was showed that some hemicellulose and pectin components of NRF were dissolved out with 1% NaOH treament, fibers surface polarity decreased, so interfacial compatibility between NRF and PLA was improved, the cellulose crystallinity of NRF treated with 1% NaOH increased, NRF became further refinement, surface pore sizes and specific surface area increased, at the same time, printing ink on the NRF surface was removed, which further improved the interface bond between NRF and PLA, and the mechanical properties of the composites. |
