Abstract: |
TEMPO cellulose/CdS nanocomposite materials were prepared by in situ synthesis of TEMPO oxidized bleached eucalyptus pulp and cotton pulp with the precursor solutions CdCl2 and Na2S. The obtained nanocomposite materials were characterized by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The results showed that both of the oxidized eucalyptus fiber and cotton fiber had large amounts of Cd2+ attachment, and the CdS nanoparticles were cubic crystal. The diameters of CdS nanoparticles attached onto the TEMPO oxidized eucalyptus fiber were 50~100 nm, while that of TEMPO oxidized cotton fiber were about 50 nm. Compared with the oxidized eucalyptus fiber, the CdS nanoparticles attached onto the oxidized cotton fiber showed smaller size and distributed more uniformly. This research has a significant guiding role to the preparation of cellulose/inorganic nanocomposites based on plant cellulose resources. |
