| Abstract: |
| The effects of the application of causticizing calcium carbonate as filler on the paper properties were studied. The causticizing calcium carbonate was prepared by using simulative green liquor and quick lime. The results showed that the quality of causticizing calcium carbonate improved as reaction causticity reduced, when the mole ratio of sodium carbonate and quick lime was increased. In the same mole ratio, increasing calcium oxide content of the quick lime not only increased the reaction causticity, but also improved the quality of calcium carbonate. The acid insoluble material of quick lime might be one of the factors which resulted in sizing deterioration when the causticizing calcium carbonate was used as filler． |
