Abstract:
      The relation of permeating depth of printing ink in printing on the compressible porous papers varied with the printing pressure and velocity was derived from the fluid flow equations, and the calculating method of the ratio of the ink permeability to the porosity (RPP) was given.The permeating depths of printing ink in 2 kinds of standard papers were measured by experiment. We calculated the ratios of permeability to porosity. Using the ratios, changing the printing pressure and printing velocity, the permeating depths of printing ink on compressible porous papers were calculated. The results showed that the calculated permeating depths of printing ink were in good agreement with the measuring permeating depths. It indicated that the calculation method is feasible, the permeating depth equation of printing ink can be used to study the permeation of printing ink on compressible porous papers and to design printing scheme.
