Abstract: |
With increasing serious environmental pollution and consumption of non-renewable resources, the utilization of recyclable, low cost and biodegradable material in composites has become the world′s hot topic. Natural fiber reinforced composites have received great attention in recent years. This paper presented an overview of the developments in cellulose reinforced engineering plastics composites and lignin reinforced engineering plastics composites, the matrix-reinforcement systems, interface morphology, and mechanical properties of the composites were introduced. Furthermore, the use of a novel lignin based polymer — lignophenol as coupling agent in natural fiber-engineering plastics composites was discussed. |
