Abstract: |
In order to improve glucose yield converted from rice straw, effect of bisulfite pretreatment on chemical components of feedstocks, and correlation between the efficient of enzymatic hydrolysis and the remained chemical components were studied in the paper. The results showed that bisulfite had effects on lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose and ash content of rice straw in SPORL (Sulfite Protreatment to Overcome Recalcitrance of Lignocellulose) process. Bisulfite could promote the removal of lignin and hemicellulose hydrolysis, kept cellulose from degradation. Enzymatic hydrolysis of substrates was enhanced with increasing the amount of bisulfite. There was positive linear correlation between the removal of lignin and enzymatic hydrolysis efficiency of substrate in SPORL pretreatment process. This was the difference between SPORL and dilute acid process. |
