Abstract:
By chemical grafting method, using corn starch and acrylamide as raw material, cerium ammonium nitrate as initiator, starch/acrylamide copolymer (SAM) flocculant was synthesized. Its surface functional groups were analyzed by infrared spectrum concerning its application in wastewater treatment, the influencing factors such as dosage of SAM, wastewater temperature, pH value of wastewater were investigated. The results showed that grafting rate of the starch reached a maximum value 68.5% when acrylamide and starch mass ratio was 2∶1, concentration of initiator was 2.0 mmol/L, reaction temperature was 40℃, pH value of the reaction system was 4.0.IR spectrum analysis indicated that acrylamide was successfully grafted onto the starch matrix. The appilication experimental results showed that CODCr removal efficiency of wastewater was 88.4%, BOD5 removal efficiency was 85.5%, removal rate of turbidity was 91.2%, and transparency of the treated wastewater was 93.3% when dosage of SAM was 12 mg/L, temperature was 30℃, the pH value was 7~9.
