Abstract: |
Synthetic polymer PDADMAC, PVAm and PNVF were used to modify TiO2 through ball-milling and the effect of polymer amount on properties of paper using the modified TiO2 as filler was studied. The results showed that when the dosage of PDADMAC was 2.5%, tensile index of the paper and filler retention increased by 21.0% and 9.5% respectively; when PVAm dosage was 2.0%, tensile index and filler retention rose by 24.7% and 5.5% respectively; when PNVF amount ranged from 0.5% to 1.5%, better tensile strength was achieved, while its dosage was within the scope of 2.0%~2.5%, better filler retention was obtained. When the amount of modifier agent was 0.5%, tensile index improved by 10.7%, and when the dosage was 2.5%, filler retention increased by 8.3%. PNVF dosage of 1.5% was preferable under overall consideration. |
