Abstract:
      Based on the drying process of three-stage steam heating paper machine dryer section, a static model for paper machine dryer section was developed using sequential modular approach. The input parameters of the model were known and the output parameters were unknown. The dryer group was chose as the basic modeling unit. The cylinder modular, ventilation modular and paper modular were built consequently according to the drying techniques. As a case study, the static model of a newsprint machine dryer section was then constructed according to its specific drying process and conditions. The mass and energy flows information of each basic modular were presented in the results. The simulated results were basically consistent with the practical operation of the paper machine. The model was in line with the drying techniques and it could be useful for energy analysis in dryer section.
