Abstract:
      Black liquor solids(BLS) of cotton linter pulping with different temperature rising rates were analyzed using thermogravimetric analysis. The pyrolysis properties of BLS, alkali lignin(AL) and polysaccharide(PLS) were compared at the same temperature rising rate. It was found that there were four stages in pyrolysis process of BLS and AL, three stages in pyrolysis process of PLS, all of which had rapid weight loss in the second stage. Pyrolysis properties of BLS were different from AL and PLS, due to the aliphatic carboxylic acids and alkali metal salts in black liquor had certain effects on the pyrolysis characteristics of BLS. Pyrolysis analysis of decomposition of organic matter in the second stage by using the Coats-Redfern method indicated that compared with PLS, the AL had greater effect on the pyrolysis properties of the BLS of cotton linter pulping.
