Abstract:
      In this paper, the effects of processing conditions on the oxalate formation during bamboo alkaline pulping were investigated and the relationship between the oxalate formation and the Kappa number of the pulp was also revealed. The results showed that the oxalate content gradually increased with the increasing of cooking temperature, alkali dosage and solid to liquor ratio. While the alkali dosage exceeded 21%, there was no change of oxalate formation even alkali dosage increased continuously. Further, according to the relationship of oxalate formation and H-factor and alkali dosage, a mathematical model was constructed to predict the oxalate content during bamboo alkaline pulp-ing. The model had relatively high accuracy, which could be utilized to predict the oxalate formation during the bamboo alkaline pulping.
