Abstract: |
Using anaerobic sludge as seed sludge, the MLSS, SVI and flocculation performance of the micro-aerobic magnetic activated sludge were studied during domestication process. The activated sludge was cultured by adding PCP gradiently under the condition of magnetic field and less dissolved oxygen. It was found that micro-aerobic activated sludge was in a tight state with larger flocculation and MLSS was higher than the reactor without magnetic particle. Besides, the sludge had better settling performance with the SVI value remaining in the 45~55 mL/g when PCP concentration was lower than 20 mg/L. On the contrary, the sludge was loose and SVI value was high in the reactor without magnetic particle. The measurement results of total amount of extracellular polymeric substances (ECPs) and PN/PS, indicated that the addition of magnetic powder greatly improved the flocculation performance of the sludge. |
