Abstract: |
To improve the film-forming property of hemicellulose, the methylcellulose and sorbitol were added respectively to form composite films and the film-forming and strength property were investigated. The particle size and Zeta potential of the hemicelluloses-methylcellulose and hemicellulose-sorbitol mixed solution were also investigated. The results showed that with the increase of methylcellulose dosage, the size of hemicelluloses-methylcellulose mixed solution particles increased first then reduced and the Zeta potential reduced first then increased. When the methylcellulose dosage was 75%, the Zeta potential reached the minimum. The continuous hemicellulose-methylcellulose film was formed when the methylcellulose addition was at least 35%. The hemicellulose-sorbitol film was continuous when the sorbitol addition ranged from 35% to 50%. The strength property of hemicellulose-sorbitol composite film decreased with the increase of sorbitol content. The strength property of hemicelluloses-methylcellulose composite film improved with the increases of methylcellulose and reached a maximum value when the methylcellulose dosage was 75%, however the strength property of the composite film decreased as the methylcellulose dosage was higher than this value. |
