Abstract: |
The membrane with guar gum and nanocrystalline cellulose as raw material was prepared by casting after cross-linking with glutaraldehyte.Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), X ray diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet spectrum, scan electronic microscope (SEM) were used to study the surface groups, crystal properties, transmittance, and morphology of the membrane. The effect of glutaraldehyte dosage on the mechanical property and moisture absorption of membrane was also studied. The surface of membrane became smooth after cross-linking with glutaraldehyte. When the dosage of glutaraldehyte was 0.8%, the transmittance of membrane increased to 143% of uncrosslinked membrane, and the tensile strength was 4.6 times of uncrosslinked membrane. The film crosslinked with glutaraldehyde showed application potential in green packaging. |
