Abstract:
      Fennel stalk was treated by steam explosion. The changes of chemical components and fibre morphology in fennel stalk before and after explosion were compared, and the effect of explored fennel stalk on the sensory quality of the tobacco sheet was investigated. The changes of holocellulose and hemicellulose contents of the fennel stalk were studied. Under the conditions of steam explosion pressure of 1.0 MPa and stay for 3 min under the measure, the fibre structure of fennel stalk appeared obvious damage, the reduction of holocellulose and hemicellulose reached 8.1% and 15.8% respectively, the explosion was in favor of defibration and tobacco sheet processing of fennel stalk, and improvement of the quality of sheet significantly.
