Abstract: |
This paper reviewed the research progress of converting cellulose into levulinic acid by different catalytic systems in recent years, emphasized the preparation of levulinic acid from cellulose through ionic liquid systems. The reasons of difficulty to realize commercialization of producing levulinic acid directly from biomass resources using current catalytic systems were analyzed. The future research focused on preparation of levulinic acid from cellulose was discussed and prospected. |
