Abstract:
      Imperforated, perforated honeycomb core paper strip and five kinds of paper honeycomb cores static compression experiments were carried out. The effects of relative humidity and perforating (the diameter and number of circular hole) on the longitudinal and transverse ring crush resistances of honeycomb core paper strip and the compressive strength of paper honeycomb core were studied. The influence of relative humidity and diameter of circular hole on the ring crush resistance was evaluated by multiple linear regression analysis and SPSS, and the empirical relationships between length defect rate and the coefficient of ring crush resistance were discussed. The results indicated that, the longitudinal ring crush resistances of honeycomb core paper strips with no hole, single-hole and double-hole were about 1.4 to 1.5 times of that of transverse direction. Longitudinal and transverse ring crush resistances of honeycomb core paper strip and the compressive strength of paper honeycomb core decreased with the increase of relative humidity, diameter and number of circular hole. Moreover, the longitudinal ring crush resistance of honeycomb core paper strip with double-hole and the compressive strength of double-hole paper honeycomb core were more sensitive to humidity. Perforating a single circular hole with diameter of 2 mm or 3 mm was suitable for the paper honeycomb core under the integrated influence of relative humidity and perforating.
