Abstract: |
In this study, an energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) method for rapid and non-destructive determination of K and Na elements in cigarette paper was reported. It was found that there was a linear relationship between the relative contents (c) of K and Na on the surface of cigarette paper measured by EDS and the actual contents (C) of K and Na in cigarette paper measured by conventional atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), from which the following equations were established and, with the correlation coefficient of 0.958 and 0.959, respectively. Since the EDS method could conduct non-destructive testing on the solid sample without any pretreatment, it could be an efficient way for rapid determination of the contents of K and Na in cigarette paper. |
