Abstract:
In this study, the visible light-induced intimately coupled photocatalysis and biodegradation (ICPB) system was constructed by using bagasse cellulose/TiO2 composite as carrier, white rot fungus mixed activated sludge as biological source, single white rot fungus and single activated sludge as controls, to explore the physical and chemical characteristics and wastewater treatment efficiency of different ICPB systems in the domestication process. The results showed that the ICPB system constructed by white rot fungus mixed with activated sludge had good physical and chemical properties, i.e., the values of MLSS, SVI, and PN/PS after domestication were 6~8 g/L, 60~85 mL/g, and 1.61, respectively. The removal rates of AOX, CODCr, and DOC reached 92%, 77%, and 75%, which were higher than those of the controls. The addition of dominant bacteria is beneficial to enhance the degradation effect of ICPB system and this study provides a new idea for efficient treatment of ECF bleaching wastewater.
