Abstract: |
This study investigated the dynamic adsorption behaviors of commercial celluloses, i.e., C8002, 315 filter paper, and Canada wood pulp, towards polar and non-polar fluids and further deduced their surface energies via capillary rise method. Results showed that the pure cellulose, C8002, had stronger adsorption capacity compared with the other two commercial cellulose samples, while the mostly adsorbed solvent for all cellulose samples was the non-polar diiodomethane. The commercial production process would endow the cellulosic products with increased Lewis acid-base interaction ability due to the increase in Lewis base component. |
