Abstract:
      In this study, ozone bleaching technology was introduced into bleaching process of eucalyptus kraft pulp after oxygen delignification treatment. The effects of pulp concentration, bleaching time, pH value, and ozone dosage on the properties of bleached pulp and paper were studied; the optimum bleaching conditions were preliminarily obtained. The results show that when 35% concentration of pulp was used in bleaching process with 0.9% dosage of ozone at pH value of 2.0 for 3 min, bleached pulp with 76.9% ISO brightness was produced, the viscosity and Kappa number were 535 mL/g and 2.71, respectively. Moreover, the as-prepared paper has decent physical properties with tensile index, burst index, tear index, and folding strength of 57.4 N·m/g, 4.77 kPa·m2/g, 7.95 mN·m2/g, and 89 times, respectively.
