| Abstract: |
| cotton fiber was modified by 2，3-epoxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride （EPTMAC） with Alkali-Urea system as solvent to obtain a cationic cellulose （C-Cell）. C-Cell and cationic guar gum （C-Guar） was characterized by FT-IR， PCD and rotational viscosimeter. Adding those cationic auxiliaries into the tobacco pulp to produce the tobacco sheet by it. Retention and drainage performance， electrochemical characteristics of the tobacco pulp and physical properties of the tobacco sheet were tested. It was revealed that the charge quantities of those cationic auxiliaries are approximated. Compared to C-Guar， C-Cell was better than in reducing cationic demand of tobacco pulp and improving retention and filtration performance when the addition of the cationic auxiliary was 0.10%. In addition， the addition of C-Cell also improved the physical properties of the tobacco sheet， such as tensile strength and loose thickness. In summary， C-Cell can be used as retention and drainage aid for paper-making reconstituted tobacco sheet in papermaking. |
