Abstract:
      In the papermaking process, the use of cationic polymers plays an important role in improving water filtration and retention, the strength properties of paper, and the operability and cleanliness of papermaking systems. However, cationic polyelectrolytes used in factories have the characteristics of poor biodegradability and great environmental harm. To explore the modification technology of cationic pulp fiber instead of cationic polyelectrolyte has important research value and application prospect for promoting the clean production of pulp and paper. Aiming at the problems of tight tissue structure, low accessibility of functional chemical groups and difficult modification of pulp fiber, this paper briefly reviewed the research progress of pretreatment methods and cationic modification technology of pulp fiber, and expounded the mechanism, advantages and disadvantages of different pretreatment methods for improving the accessibility and hydroxyl reactivity of pulp fiber. The cationic modification methods and reaction mechanism of pulp fiber and the application of cationic pulp fiber in papermaking were introduced.
