Abstract: |
Cellulose nanospheres (CNS) are a new kind of nanocellulose material. Due to its large specific surface area, uniform particle size, good biocompatibility and other properties, it has been used in Pickering emulsion stabilizer, medicine, carrier materials and other fields. CNS can be prepared from natural cellulose. Regenerated cellulose and mercerized cellulose can also be used as an important raw materials for the preparation of CNS. In this paper, the preparation methods of CNS, including chemical, mechanical and enzymatic hydrolysis methods, or a combination of these methods, are summarized. The pellet-forming mechanism of different preparation processes is discussed, and the applications of CNS are also reviewed. Finally, the future challenges and opportunities of CNS are prospected. |
