Abstract:
To study the effects of pre-impregnation on the bleaching performance of the pulp, Eucalyptus urophyllax E. grandis mechanical pulp was pre-impregnated via three types of pre-impregnation soluble substrates retention processes at three chemical dosages (NaOH 10 kg/t, NaOH 30 kg/t, NaOH 10 kg/t+H2O2 30 kg/t). The chemical structure of the three pre-impregnation soluble substrates were compared by elemental analysis and pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. The results showed that the bleaching performances of pre-impregnated pulps using three processes all had a greater improvement than that of eucalyptus single-stage bleaching pulp. Pre-impregnated soluble substrates produced by pre-impregnation treatment with different chemical dosages could have a negative effect on the bleaching properties of pulps to varying degrees with different retention levels. There was a correlation between the degree of nitrogen dissolution from the pulp and the subsequent improvement of bleaching performance of the pulp.
