Abstract:
The molecular structure modulation of lignin is an important approach to expand the application field of lignin. The polymerization process of lignin in the plant cell wall was described in this paper, the effects of laccase, peroxidase, and guidance protein on polymerization in vitro were elucidated, the mechanism of enzyme-catalyzed polymerization and Casparian strip for precise lignification of plants were explored. The influence factors in the polymerization in vitro of lignin (enzyme species, lignin material, reaction conditions) were summarized. In view of the current research, the development direction and challenges of lignin functionalization and polymerization by biological methods were proposed to provide ideas for the high-value and diversified utilization of industrial lignin.
