Abstract:
      In this study, formic acid lignin and its nanoparticles were isolated and prepared from corn stover, poplar and pine wood with different liquid ratios (1∶10, 1∶9, 1∶8, and 1∶7) using formic acid of pulping process. The difference of phenolic hydroxyl contents in different formic acid lignin was explored. The results showed that the formic acid lignin obtained from the three raw materials had the basic characteristic structure of lignin, and the phenolic hydroxyl contents of lignin at the liquid ratio of 1∶9 was 2.69, 2.82, and 3.09 mmol/g, respectively. The results of water contact angle experiments showed that the lignin compression tablets of three raw materials had strong hydrophilicity. Formic acid lignin nanoparticles were used for the preparation of formic acid lignin nanoparticles/starch composite films, and the contact angle of composite films was significantly increased, and the hydrophobic properties were influenced by the type of raw materials and liquid ratios. The contact angle of composite films after four months aging was further enhanced, and corn stover, poplar and pine formic acid lignin/starch composite films had the highest water contact angles of 127.2°, 125.1° and 123.5°, respectively. The study results played a positive role in promoting hydrophobic performance of lignin, and developing applications of hydrophobic films.
