Abstract:
The cellulose and other carbohydrates contained in rice straw can be enzymatically converted into fermented reducing sugars, which shows great potential in the field of biomass refining. However, rice straw has a dense structure inherent to lignocellulosic biomass, which severely hinders the saccharification of cellulose. Therefore, effective pretreatment is a prerequisite for realizing its efficient conversion into reducing sugars. This paper reviewed the action mechanism, advantages and disadvantages of different pretreatment methods for rice straw, and analyzed the changes in the physicochemical properties of pretreated rice straw, and the effect on subsequent saccharification. It focused on the mechanism and effect of enzyme hydrolysis saccharification, summarized the development of pretreatment technology of rice straw.
