Abstract:
      The raw materials of reconstituted tobacco sheets contain a large number of fine fibers, fragments and mineral fillers, which are easy lost during papermaking processing, increasing raw material consumption and water treatment load, and affecting the quality of reconstituted tobacco sheets. Natural polysaccharides have the properties of chemical stability non-toxicity, and biodegradability, and can be used as retention aids for reconstituted tobacco sheets. In this paper, the natural polysaccharide retention aids currently used in reconstituted tobacco sheets, including unitary, binary and multivariate retention aid systems were reviewed. The mechanism and effect of natural polysaccharide retention aids were discussed from the perspective microstructure.
