Abstract:
In this study, the fast-growing bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) was used as raw material to prepare the bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) pre-conditioning refiner chemical alkaline peroxide mechanical pulp (P-RC APMP). The bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) P-RC APMP was blended in varying ratios (0~50%) with bamboo/softwood bleached chemical pulp. The pulp molding materials were produced using alkyl ketene dimer (AKD) and polyacrylate as water/oil resistant agent. The pulp properties and effects of the blending ratios of bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) P-RC APMP on the physical properties and water/oil resistance of the pulp molding materials were investigated. The results showed that the yield of bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) P-RC APMP was 84.25%, and the D65 brightness was achieved 72.1% after three-stage high concentration of bleaching. With the blending ratio of bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) P-RC APMP increasing from 0 to 50%, the density, surface smoothness, and tensile strength of pulp molding materials decreased, while air permeability and stiffness increased significantly. Meanwhile, the water resistance was improved with the Cobb60 value decreasing from 20.2 g/m² to 11.5 g/m². When the blending ratio of bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) P-RC APMP ranged from 10% to 30%, the oil proof treated pulp molding materials exhibited good oil resistance, with an oil resistance grade of 9~10.
