Abstract:
This study accelerated the separation of Aluminum foil layer (AL)/polyethylene plastic (PE) composite films by introducing ketones with mild swelling effects on PE and solubility of low-density adhesive layer PE of AL/PE composite films into traditional acid separators. This approach leveraged the peeling action of organic small-molecule acids on AL to form an organic small-molecule acid-ketone-water composite separation system. This study investigated the separation performance of four acid-ketone-water composite separation systems formed by blending formic acid, acetic acid, acetone, and cyclohexanone for AL/PE composite films. The results indicated that the strongest separation effect of composite separation system towards AL/PE composite film occured at a volume ratio of formic acid∶acetone∶water of 6∶1∶93. Complete separation of AL/PE composite film was achieved in just 17 min, with a total AL/PE loss rate as low as 2.08%. This approach not only significantly enhanced the separation efficiency of paper/AL/PE composite packaging materials, but also effectively reduced organic reagents content of the separation system.
