Abstract: |
In this study, the chemical composition and fiber morphology of different parts of corn stalk, including bark, pith, leaves, and sheath, were analyzed and studied by various means. The results showed that the fiber content of the whole corn stalk was 51.19%, and the parenchyma cell content was high. The fiber content in corn stalk bark was the largest, accounting for 47.96% of the whole stalk, and α-cellulose content was 36.99%. The fiber content of leaves and sheath accounted for 22.33% and 23.65%, respectively, while that of pith was the least (6.06%). The average length of corn stalk bark fibers was 1.17 mm and its length/width ratio was the largest (80.41); while the pith fibers were the shortest, contributing the lowest to whole corn stalk fibers. |
